Evaluation of Early Warning System Models for Alzheimer's Disease Lead Investigator: Britto Nathan Institution : Eastern Illinois University E-Mail : bpnathan@eiu.edu Proposal ID : 1663 Proposal Description: We have formed a consortium to develop an Early Warning System (EWS) to identify Alzheimer?#128#153s disease patients several years prior to their clinical diagnosis. This consortium includes students and researchers in the Principal Investigator's (PI) laboratory as well as other laboratories, physicians, and engineers with specializations in data science and machine learning, and partnership with healthcare technology companies. We have, so far, developed few potential EWS models. We plan to use the NACC data: (1) to fully train our EWS to identify imminent AD patients with high fidelity, and (2) to train researchers and students in the PI's laboratory in big data analysis, and EWS model development. Identifying patients who are most likely to develop Alzheimer?#128#153s disease, earlier than the clinical diagnosis, will give individuals an opportunity to enroll in clinical trials, take preventative measures, and pursue early treatment.
